The Model 357 Scale System is not rated for submersion or washdown. The table is designed to have some moisture due to light rain or splashing, wet fish.
The Model 357 Indicator is NOT rated for any moisture and should be covered completely if used in the rain.
Be sure to completely dry the scale system before storing it in the water tight storage case to prevent water being trapped inside the storage case.
If the scale platform becomes saturated with water, readings will become erratic. Dry out scale completely in warm dry area and normal weighing operation should return.
